Jack Ray

WOLFE CITY - Jack Ray, 83, of Greenville died Saturday in Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Monday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home with Riley Hamilton and Fred Samuel officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Mr. Ray was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Geronimo, Okla.; the son of James Scott and Mahala Smith Ray. He married Dorothy Nell Parsons on Oct. 27, 1945, in Rockwall.

Mr. Ray was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville; two daughters, Brenda Michaels of Bloomington, Ill. and Donna Malone of Greenville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosedale Harris and Georgia Awe, both of Paris, Texas; and one brother.

He was preceded in death by a son, one brother and one sister.

Pallbearers are Corky Thompson, John Swindell, Bradley Parsons, Jackie Harris, Lewis Parsons and Fred Samuel. Honorary pallbearer is Duane Marable.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
