Malone
Wolfe City-William E. Malone, 67, of Route 1, Wolfe City, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in a Dallas hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Owens Funeral Chapel here with Wallace Mynatt and Dwight Gardner officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Malone was born August 21, 1912, in Arkansas, the son of Robert Reed and Clara Ray Malone. He married Etta Lee Harrell July 27, 1934, at Wolfe City. He was a farmer-rancher and served on the board and was vice-president of Ne-Tex Cooperative Oil Mill. He was past president of Farmers Co-op Gin and Warehouse Co. of Wolfe City. He served on the board of Texas Planting Seed Association at Bryan and Producers' Compress at McKinney and was a member of the advisory board of Houston Bank for Cooperatives. Malone was a member of the West main Street Church of Christ of Wolfe City.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Carmas Edith Robinson of Wolfe City; son, James Earl Malone of Wolfe City; brother, Ray Malone of Wolfe City; sisters, Mattie Smithey of Wolfe City, Laura Kelley of Quinlan, Fay Woodruff of Wolfe City, and Fern Bench of Dallas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Malone was preceded in death by a son, Robert Malone, in 1974.
Pallbearers will be Sherd David, Lennis Springs, Bob Williams, Mike Doyle, Jack Butler, and Jack Swinson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Owens Funeral Home of Wolfe City.
