W.T. Goad

W.T. Goad, 90, of Greenville died Thursday at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Central Christian Church with Dr. David Darnell and Dr. Raymond Anderson Boulter Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Son of William Thomas Goad Sr. and Zona Frances Smith, he was born Aug. 25, 1909 in Myrtle Springs. He married Helen Kathleen Boggess on May 8, 1931 in Hugo, Okla. He was the retired owner of Goad's Garage. Mr. Goad was a member of Central Christian Church and Greenville I.O.O.F. Lodge.

He is survived by daughters Helen Mary Sorrells of Ardmore, Okla. and Martha Howard of Allen; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 12, 1993; two brothers; four sisters and three half sisters.

Pallbearers will be Greg Gibbs, Ed Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Drew Patterson, D.A. Steele and James Woodruff. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Roy, Raymond Stevens, Tommy Jackson and Buster White.

Visitation is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
