George Cole

WOLFE CITY - George W. Cole, 79, of Wolfe City died Saturday at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Dwight Gardner and Rev. Lewis Smith officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Mr. Cole was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Pilot Point; the son of Charlie and Emma Pedigo Cole. He married Waunita Toone on Aug. 21, 1943, in Wolfe City. He was a retired physical therapist and a World War II veteran.

Surviving are his wife of Wolfe City; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Joan Cole of Carrollton; daughter, Glenda Woodruff of Quitman; four granchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Cole of Alvin and Charlie Cole of Denton; and two sisters, Mandy Richardson of Pilot Point and Mary Johnson of Hurst.

Pallbearers are Robert Woodruff, Bryan Woodruff, Chad Cole, Jason Cole, Donald Richardson and Glenn Cole Jr.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
