Fred Norris
1936-2005

Funeral services for Fred Franklin Norris, 69, of Greenville were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Giddens officiating. Burial was in Tidwell Cemetery.  Mr. Norris passed away Friday, April 15, 2005, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.  He was born Jan. 20, 1936, in Greenville; the son of Fred McDuffy and Willie Roie Nowlin Norris.  He married Sue Colbert on Jan. 13, 1961, in Greenville.  Mr. Norris was a retired welder and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Baptist.  Surviving are his wife of Greenville; son, James Franklin Norris and wife Keitha, of Quinlan; daughters, Jennifer Sue Williamson of Greenville, Jennette Bernice Smith and friend Steve Henderson of Greenville; brothers, J.D. Norris of Quitman and Jimmy Norris of Emory; sisters, Rogene Shelton of Oklahoma, Janice Lowery of Mesquite and Margaret Porter of Commerce; grandchildren, Jenica Jones of Cash, Jensen Jones of Greenville, Kayla Sims of Quinlan, Allyson Norris of Merit, Dillon Norris of Quinlan and Cody Norris of Greenville; several nieces and nephews; and two rat terriers, CoCo and Tippy.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rita Bernice Norris; brother, Robert “Bob” Norris; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Christine Jones.
