1922 - 2004
Arnie Lee Dooley, 82, of Lone Oak died early morning
on Thursday, November 11, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral
services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, at Prairie Valley Baptist
Church under the direction of Coker Matthews Funeral Home of Greenville.
Burial was in Prairie Valley Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Dooley,
Steve Byrd, Ken Byrd, Eric Dooley, Dusty Goodwin and Jason Luhn. Nicholas
Goodwin and Justin Dooley served as honorary pallbearers. Mr.
Dooley was born Nov. 8, 1922, in the Prairie Valley Community, Hunt County.
He was the son of Tate and Jewel Bynum Dooley. He and Fannie Dora Lamm were
married Dec. 23, 1942, in Greenville. Mr. Dooley served in the U.S. Army Air
Corps from 1942 to 1946. He worked at Temco for 20 years as a flight
mechanic and was a lifetime farmer/rancher. He was a member of Prairie
Valley Baptist Church and was a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge 307 in Lone
Oak. Mr. Dooley served as a Lone Oak school board member for 20 years and
was a former director of Northeast Texas Famers Co-Op. Surviving are
his wife of Lone Oak; a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Penny Dooley of
Lone Oak; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Robert Byrd of Greenville;
daughter-in-law Ann Dooley of Greenville; brothers E.J. Dooley of San
Antonio and J.B. Dooley of Lone Oak; two sisters, Donna Robinson of
Greenville and Sue Luhn of Lone Oak; grandchildren Becky Goodwin, Dusty
Goodwin, John Dooley and Jana Dooley, all of Lone Oak, Steve Byrd of Round
Rock, Ken Byrd of Greenville and Eric Dooley of U.S. Austin; and
great-grandchildren, Georganna Goodwin, Nicholas Goodwin, Justin Dooley and
Jaylan Dooley, all of Lone Oak. He was preceded in death by his father
in 1981, his mother in 1982 and a son, Don, in 1989. Memorials may be
made to Prairie Valley Cemetery Association, 1417 Williamsburg, Greenville,
