Services for Mrs. Martha Marie Burns Johnson, 63, of Oak Cliff were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Miller Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Raymond Butts officiated and interment was in Miller Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson died Saturday evening in the Oak Cliff Medical and Surgical Clinic.
She was born Jan. 27, 1915 in Miller Grove to Jim and Lessie Green Burns. She was a member of the Stevens Park United Methodist Church and a life member of the Pioneers. She had been employed by Southwestern Bell for the past 23 years.
Survivors include a son, Clellan V. Johnson of Mesquite; a daughter, Helen Dillon of Dallas; four sisters, Lerline Johnson of Mesquite, Irene Dodd of Lone Oak, Woodie Hurst of Greenville and Roxi Brand of Garland; three brothers, Frank and Johnie Burns both of Miller Grove and H.C. Burns of Greenville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by three sisters, Lola Long, Oma Garrett and Mary Jim Moseley.
