Lerline Johnson (Sulphur Springs News Telegram, August 28, 1984)
Mrs. Lerline Burns Johnson, 73, of Dallas, died at 9:08 p.m. Sunday in Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Miller Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Ridley and the Rev. W.W. Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Miller Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Duane Garrett, Dalton Moseley, Keith Burns, Clelland Johnson, Larry Burns and Lesley Hurst.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Tapp Funeral Home. The body will be at the funeral home until noon Wednesday.
She was born Dec. 7, 1910, in Miller Grove, the daughter of Jim Burns and Lessie Green.
She was a member of the Miller Grove Presbyterian Church and a retired bookkeeper for Neiman-Marcus.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Sue Morris of Mesquite; a son, Jim D. Johnson of Carrollton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Burns of Miller Grove; two sisters, Irene Dodd of Lone Oak and Woodie Hurst of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters including Oma Garrett, H.C. Burns Sr., Mary Jim Moseley, Johnnie Burns, Martha Johnson, Lola Long and Roxie Brand.
