Funeral services for William E. "Sonny" Byrd, 65, of Morgan, formerly of Hopkins County, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in First Baptist Church of Miller Grove with the Rev. Guy Mayes officiating.
Burial was in Miller Grove Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Byrd died at 1:22 p.m. Sunday, March 1, in Goodall-Witcher Health Care Foundation Center in Clifton.
He was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Miller Grove, the son of Everett and Wilma Loretta Johnson Byrd.
Mrs. Byrd was a retired truck driver and a Baptist. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Byrd of Burleson and Monty Byrd of Dallas; three daughters, Penny Pierson of Burleson, Sunny Lynn and Nancy Byrd, both of Dallas; one brother, Earl Wayne Byrd of South Lake; and three grandchildren, Michael Byrd of San Antonio and Ricky and Cristy Pierson of Burleson.
He was preceded in death by one half-sister.
