Miller Grove- Mrs. Johnie L. Burns, 65, of Miller Grove died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday in a Sulphur Springs hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Miller Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Ridley officiating. Burial will be in the Miller Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Tapp Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs. Her nephews will serve as pall bearers.

The body will be in the Tapp Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Monday at which time it will be moved to the family residence in Miller Grove where it will remain until 1 p.m. Monday.

A member of the Miller Grove Presbyterian Church, she was the former Virgie Bess Johnson and was born in Miller Grove Sept. 28, 1905. She was married May 11, 1926 in Miller Grove to Johnie L. Burns who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Jim Burns of Garland and Keith Burns of Dallas; a daughter, Mrs. Peggy Latham of Commerce; two brothers, W.F. (Walter) Johnson and C.G. (Don) Johnson, both of Miller Grove; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
