Mrs. Johnson Dies Sunday (Greenville Herald Banner, Tuesday, October 4, 1932, pg. 8)
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bloom Johnson Held Monday Afternoon.
Mrs. Bloom Johnson, about 60 years of age, well known Hunt County woman, died suddenly at her home in the Shady Grove Community at noon Sunday, following a stroke of paralysis suffered Sunday morning. Funeral services were held at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon with burial following in the Miller’s Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson visited in Greenville Saturday and was up Sunday morning as usual. She was stricken with paralysis shortly before noon and died within a very short period. Mr. Johnson was in Kilgore, attending the funeral services of a brother, Clay Johnson, and did not learn of his wife’s death until he was nearly home Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Johnson had been a resident of Hunt County for a number of years and was one of the most prominent women of her community. She was a faithful Christian woman, having been a member of the Liberty Methodist Church for many years.
She is survived by her husband and four sons, all of whom reside in the Shady Grove community, and other relatives.
