Funeral service for Bruce C. Stripling, 87, of Lone Oak,
were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, at Miller Grove First United
Methodist Church with Dr. Bill Benner officiating. Burial followed at the
Miller Grove Cemetery with Michael Stanley, Richard Stanley, Kevin Stripling,
Shannon Stripling, Collin Rector, Jeff Grigsby and William O'Dell serving as
pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews. Mr. Stripling died at
4:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2005, at the Presbyterian Hospital in
Greenville. Mr. Stripline was born in Blanchard, Okla., on February 27, 1918,
the son of Frank M. and Grace Mae James Stripling. He married Louise L.
Garmon in Cumby on September 14, 1941. He was a cattleman and a rancher,
employed in the Dallas area with Murry-Gin Company for 20 years and also
Recognition Equipment for twenty years as a maintenance man. He was an elder
at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, a past president of IAM Credit
Union, and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was survived by two sons, Kenneth
Stripling of Desoto and Randall Stripling of Houston; two daughters, Brenda
Stanley of Longview and Dr. Bettye Dunegan of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother and
sister-in-law, Luke and Madeline Stripling of Dickenson; eight grandchildren,
Kevin and Shannon Stripling, Paula Grigsby, Leigh O'Dell, Michael and Richard
Stanley, Collin and Lauren Rector; 12 great-grandchildren, Trevor, Branden,
Cole, Scarlett and Caleb Stripling; J.W., Judah, Kelsey and Kayle Grigsby;
Ashley Stanley; Isabel O'Dell, and Corbin Stanley. He was preceded in death
by his parents; wife Louise Garmon Stripling; two brothers, Aaron and James
Stripling; two sisters, Georgia McCord and Ila Marable; and one
great-granddaughter, Chelsea O'Dell. Memorials may be made to Miller Grove
Volunteer Fire Department and the Miller Grove Cemetery Association.

LONE OAK — Janie File, 62, of Lone Oak died Oct. 9,
2006 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are at 4 p.m. Wednesday
at Lone Oak Assembly of God with Mary Logan, Danny Calk and Sam Calk
officiating. Burial follows at Miller Grove Cemetery. Born Feb. 4, 1944, in
Greenville, she was the daughter of Forest James “Slats” and Rosa Dicken
Hargis. She was married to Herb File on July 27, 1968. Mrs. File taught
school for 30 years, retiring from the Lone Oak schools in 2001. Survivors
are two daughters and sons-in-law, Didi and Butch Beaulieu of Tyler and
Suann and Marty Pullen of Lone Oak; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and
Karen Hargis of Lone Oak; grandchildren Brandon Pullen and Grayce and Elijah
Beaulieu; and nieces Debbie Hand and Shellye Hunt. Her husband, parents and
a granddaughter, Anna Pullen, preceded her in death. Pallbearers are Butch
Beaulieu, Marty Pullen, Wes Hand, Bryan Fretwell, Bob Leohr, and Chris
Pullen. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bartley Funeral Home of Lone Oak.
