LOCATION:  Southeast of Progreso on FM1015 en route to Progreso International Bridge, and 1.75 miles south of US 281.  It is west of FM 1015 on a lane 100 feet long, behind a gasoline service station.
 
SURVEYED:  February 7, 1976 by Joe Fallin, Ray Hunt, Ed Miner and Dale Swartzmiller for McAllen Genealogical Society. Cemetery is maintained by  families of decedents. 
 
HISTORY: Guzman-Toluca Cemetery is located in Llano Grande Land Grant given to Juan Jose Hinojosa in 1790.  Marcos Guzman purchased 249 varas (695 feet) of river frontage from Indelecio and Paula Dominguez of Rosario Ranch in 1878.  The Guzman Strip extended north 15 miles to the rear of the grant. Guzman farmed the property for at least 25 years.  In 1903 Florencio Saenz, owner of Toluca Ranch, acquired the Old Guzman homestead. Saenz sold the property north of Llano Grande Lake to developer J. P. Withers in 1903. The rest of the property also passed into the hands of developers.  Oldest marked grave appears to be 1904 (or 1926).
