Gill Cemetery
Services for Rodney "Red" Mayfield, 49, of Hallsville,
will
be 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at the Travis Street Chapel
of Sullivan Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Sawyer
officiating. Interment will be in Gill Cemetery, Gill
Community.
Mr. Mayfield died Oct. 22, 2003, in Longview. He was
born
Sept. 2, 1954, in Elysian Fields, to Nelson Hayes Mayfield and
Jennie Bell Hopkins Mayfield.
Mr. Mayfield was educated in Marshall. He was a
self-employed
diesel mechanic. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He
loved to go mudding in his four wheeler. Mr. Mayfield was a
loving brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, J.W.
and
Brenda Mayfield of Waxahachie, Roy and Linda Mayfield of
Marshall and Robert and Rose Mayfield of Karnack; two sisters,
Nell Marie Arrington of Tyler and Jeanette Scott of
Hallsville; uncle, Dennis Mayfield of Marshall; aunt, Annie
Ruth Earl of Greenwood, La.; 11 nephews; eight nieces; and
numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Scott, Jason Mayfield, Marty
Mayfield, Chad Mayfield, Randy Minatrea and Billy Galivez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nelson Mayfield and Gabriel
Mayfield.
