Webster Cemetery is located near Leigh, a community in the
eastern part of Harrison County. John Johnston Webster came to East Texas
in the early days of the new Republic. He established residency in 1840.
The cemetery is about two miles west of FM 134 which runs north and south
between Waskom and Karnack. It is located on private property. It is used
for burial by family members only. Buried in the cemetery are members of 18
different families who descended directly from John Johnston Webster or were
related through marriage.
Webster Cemetery has a long history. Dedication of
markers on graves as well as an Official Texas Historical Marker.
Webster Cemetery. You can put it in your records how you
want to. My family refers to it as Mimosa Hall-Webster
Cemetery.
