Fraser, Aretes "Rita"
Funeral services for Mrs. Aretes "Rita" Fraser, a 69 year old Leonard resident,
are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at the First United Methodist Church
of Leonard, Tex. Rev. Willie Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be
Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral
Chapel in Leonard. Burial will be in the Valley Creek Cemetery. She passed away
Friday, Jan. 11, at the Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham, Tex.
Mrs. Fraser married Robert Ray Fraser in Dallas, Tex. She was affiliated with
the First United Methodist Church of Leonard and worked for many years as a
nurse’s aide at the Leonard Manor.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Edward (Eddie) and
Ashlea Fraser of Bonham and Steve Fraser of Sacramento, Calif.; daughters and
sons-in-law, Cathy Donnell and Larry Songer of Leonard and Susan and Cory Cate
of Livermore, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Archie and Joan Robinson and
James and Jackie Robinson, all of Canton, Tex.; grandchildren, Amanda and Justin
Horton, Morgan Songer, Tara Carlisle Fraser and Emily Fraser; numerous nieces
and nephews.
Mrs. Fraser was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Emuil and Lilly Darby
Robinson; her husband, Robert Ray Fraser; sister, Linda Boyd; brother-in-law,
David Boyd and her grandson, Matthew Songer.

Houser, Johnny "Cotton"
August 30, 2007 - Funeral services for Johnny "Cotton" Houser, 69 of Leonard,
were held Monday, Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Randolph
with Rev. David Brackett and Rev. Daniel Caldwell officiating. Burial was in the
Valley Creek Cemetery near Leonard. Family visitation was Sunday, Aug. 26, from
6-8 p.m. He died Friday, Aug. 24, in Dallas Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 2, 1938 in Ennis, Tex., the son of John J. Houser, Jr., and
Julia Inez Minton Houser. He married Glenda Ann Love on Sept. 27, 1959, in
McKinney. He was a Baptist and a brick mason.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Houser of Trenton; daughter, Lisa Baldridge
of Leonard; son, Phillip Houser of Leonard; sister, Bobbie Long of Trenton;
grandchildren, Bobby Houser, Brittany Thacker, Keisha Houser, Breanna, Brandy
and Brennen Houser, Amanda, Michael and Victor Correa and James Gardner;
great-grandchildren, Cody Houser, Bryce and Morgan Lower, Skyler Hutchins, Mary
Robinson and Delphia Cotton; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Leonard was in charge of arrangements.

Tonihka, Carolyn Ann
May 24, 2007 - Funeral services for Carolyn Ann Tonihka, age 58 of Leonard, will
be held Friday, May 25, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in
Leonard. Burial will be at the Valley Creek Cemetery near Leonard.
She was born Oct. 15, 1948 in Cordova, Ala., the daughter of Willie James Sides
and Ruby Drummond Sides. She married Donnie Tonihka in Dallas, Tex. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Leonard.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie Tonihka of Leonard; sons, Eddie and James
Coleman, both of Amity, Ark., Richard Tonihka of Arlington, Tex., Tim Tonihka of
Bonham and James Tonihka of Leonard; daughter, Felisha Tonihka of Celeste;
sisters, Delia McDaniel of Richardson, Marilyn Cleary of Mesquite, Benita Brown
of Carrollton, Cresencia Valdez of Dallas and Ruby Rogers of Mesquite; brothers,
Bernard Valdez of Carrollton, Manuel Valdez of Carrollton and David Valdez of
Mesquite.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, from 6-8 p.m.
