Union Cemetery
Fannin County, Cemeteries of TX

This African American cemetery is located on Road 274 near Ravenna. It is beautiful and well kept and still in use. Union Cemetery was named for the Union Church; the union of two churches, Siloam Baptist Church and Belfountain. It has been in use since the time of the cotton plantations nearby.
A lovely lady of 94 who described the log enclosures that used to be in the middle of the cemetery surrounding the oldest graves took me on a tour; where she played as a child. This was Pauline Topsy. She added information to this file.
