Scott, William Ben
William Ben Scott was born Aug. 5, 1936, in Ladonia, son of Claudia Refugee
Reynolds and Vernon Scott. Ben was a graduate of Clark High School in Ladonia
and Texas College in Tyler where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1960. He
accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Grove CME.
Inspiring many lives, Ben was honorably discharged from the Army after serving
in the Korean War. He was also a member of the Masonic Brotherhood. He leaves
his legacy to his son Derrick Darrell Scott of Rockwall; a daughter, Annita Jan
Scott of Fort Worth; a sister, Claudia Askew of Ladonia; four grandsons, Mose
Scott Jr. IV, Derrick Terrell Scott, Carson Darrell Scott and Kaden Darrell
Scott; two granddaughters, Ameisha Scott and Akinthia Scott; and a host of
nephews, nieces and friends. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday in the
Pleasant Grove C.M.E. in Ladonia with Rev. Mitchell Scott officiating. Burial is
in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Grace
and Mercy-Grundy Funeral Home in Greenville. ~ ~ ~ The Herald Banner,
