Hood Family Cemetery was/is located on CR 4030 south of Savoy.
The Hood family has been moved to Oakhill in Whitewright. However this cemetery contained other graves number unknown and also the slaves of the Hood family who were marked with wooden markers. Most of these burned in the early part of the 1900’s in a grass fire after the death of William Jordan Hood, who had kept the cemetery in good condition. About 15 years ago some of the stones that had worn away were still visible as well as some bois d’arc stobs that managed to escape the fire.
