GAINESVILLE — Helen Eikman, 79, of Greenville, formerly of Gainesville, died March 12, 2008, at her residence. A graveside service is scheduled at 3 p.m. today at Fairview Cemetery with Boyd Tatum officiating. Geo J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville is in charge of arrangements. Born March 1, 1929, in Ben Franklin, she was the daughter of Tom and Pearl Stanfield Tatum. Helen attended Gainesville public schools and worked in Gainesville as a waitress for 43 years. She enjoyed working in her garden. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Brenda and Robin Munson of Mansfield, Linda and Randle Risner of Gainesville and Robbie and Mike Carlile of Greenville; a grandson, Michael Munson of Houston; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Rev. T.L. Tatum, Truman Tatum and T.J. Tatum; a sister, Lucille Smith; and her former husband, Mansel Eikman.
