R.E. Campbell, 80,of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, February 23,2003, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Campbell was born July 14,1922, in New Boston, Texas. He was retired from Red River
Army Depot and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons,
Robert E. Campbell of Maud, Texas, Willie E. Campbell of Chester, Va., and LeRoy Campbell of
Manhattan, Kan.; three daughters, Dorothy Crowell and Gale Campbell of Texarkana; and
LaTisha Davis of Baltimore, Md.; seven sisters, Odessa Dyer of New Boston, Mattie Campbell,
Rayce Jackson, Dora Forte, Mary Garrett and Judy Berry of Denton, Texas; and Mayhelen
Crossland of Dallas; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m.
Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. David Hardy and Benjamin Hailey
officiating. Burial will be in Arkadelphia Cemetery, under direction of Haynes Mortuary.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
