His Great grandfather was the Sypert who was the first County Judge of Milam County. He was the great-great grandson of Michael Reed. Michael Reed's daughter, Virginia Lee (Jennie) Reed married William Sypert -- they were the parents of Leni Leoti Sypert Clark (she married Randolph Clark, whose father and uncle founded TCU.
Randolph also has a very impressive 'resume'
himself -- he founded Wichita Falls Junior College, which during the 1930's,
became Hardin Junior College, and ultimately Midwestern State University.
Gainesville Junior College separated from the Gainesville Independent School
District in 1960 to be maintained by a county-wide college district. In 1974,
reflecting the trend of the time, "Cooke County Junior College" became
"Cooke County College," although remaining a two-year
institution).
Grandmother Leoti and Randolph were the parents of Randolph Lee Clark,
co-founder of MD Anderson Cancer Research Hospital and Joseph Addison Clark,
teacher and educator. Joseph married Laurel Persons. Laurel's
father, Edgar H. Persons was County Judge of Hamilton County at the time of his
death. Joseph and Laurel are Edgar's parents.
