Simmons Cemetery
aka Little Elm Creek or Oscar Cemetery
Bell Co. Cemeteries of TX
Submitted by Cynnamon Coufal
There is a cemetery near my home in Oscar, Texas. It is accessible only by 4 wheelers and is on private property. I wanted to documented it, for it is in the immediate path of the proposed route for the Trans Texas Corridor. I have photographed and recorded each grave (there are about 50). I also have the land deeds dating back to the time these individuals were living, but I have not looked at the deeds to see if any of the names match up.
The Oscar Cemetery (aka Little Elm, Simmons) is registered as a Texas Historic Cemetery . The information can be viewed here:http://atlas.thc.state.tx.us/shell-county.htm
