RUNNELS CEMETERY
This information is taken from the Angelina County Cemetery Records (year 1846-1968)
by Debra Coursey Pitts in year 2004.
The Old Runnels Cemetery once located in Angelina County was one of several that was relocated
due to the building of the Sam Rayburn Dam and Lake by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
in the years of 1959-1960.
This cemetery is now located in San Augustine County and is often called the New Runnels Cemetery.
The following names were transferred from the Old Runnels Cemetery in Angelina County
into the New Runnels Cemetery in San Augustine County.
