(Obit: Monday July 1, 2002 Palestine Herald Press: Services for Buddy Bryan, 73, of Tennessee Colony, will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday at Tennesee Colony Union Church with the Rev. Ken Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mr. Bryan died Sunday at Palestine Regonal Medicl Center. He was born May 30, 1929, in Palestine to Reese and Maudie McKinzie Bryan. Mr. Bryan was a farmer and rancher in Centerville for 30 years and worked as the production superintendent for Mossbacher Oil near Madisonville for 15 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, 1949-1951. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Tim Bryan, in 1953. Mr. Bryan is survived by his w/o 50 years, Shirley A. Bryan of Tennessee Colony; son, Bruce Bryan of Georgetown; sister, Joan Link of Tennessee Colony; brother, James V. Bryan of Cedar Hill; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mike Link, Darwin Link, Oscar Warren, Sam Wayne Leathers, Johnie Gunn, J.M. Boyd and Wayne McInnis. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Roane, Haskell Mitchell and James F. Ray. Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 P.M. today at the funeral home.)

Burial will be in Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Calcote died Thursdy at Park Highlands Nursing Center in Athens where she had lived the past eight years. She as born Oct 26, 1900 in Tennessee Colony to Marcus Eugene Avant and Mary Tennie Campbell. Mrs. Calcote was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church of Palestine. She was a life member and past Worthy Matron of the Tennessee Colony Chapter 102 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Riley Calcote, in 1954; daughter, Rosemary Kendrick; son, Charles Richard Calcote; grandson, Michael Kendrick; sister, Alma Avant Wofford; brothers, Homer, Sam, Frank, Albert, Milton, Bruce and Shelton Avant. She is surveved by a daughter, Jeanne Helms of Houston; four grandchilren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bruce Calcote, A.B. Calcote, Howard Calcote, Ryan Cummings, Todd Dugan and Alec Wofford. Condolence calls will be received by the family from 6 to 8 P.M. today at the funeral home. Obituary: January 2, 1936 J.H. Farris, 54, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday at his home in Tennessee Colony after an illness of several days. Funeral services were held Thursday at 3 P.M. at the home with Dr. E.H. Wylie, pastor of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial at the Tennessee Colony Cemetery.Survivors include his wife, Vera (Tucker) Farris; Daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Stovall of Daisetta, Misses Inez, Essie, Lorie?, Marrine, and Clara Farris; Two sons, J.H. Farris Jr and Tucker Royal Farris.

Mrs. Livingston died Thursday afternoon in Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was orn Feb. 17, 1966 in Edina, Minn. to Kenneth F. Leonard and Donna Mae Guider Leonard. Mrs. Livingston was involved in several Cayuga High School clubs and organizations. She had been employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 14 years and at the time of her death, she was on sick leave from her job as Postmaster in Streetman. She is survived by her parents of Tennessee Colony; her husband, David Livingston of Tennessee Colony; son, Marc Livingston of Tennessee Colony; sisters, Cary Wasinger and Katie Oates, both of McKinney, and Sherry Lepacik of Joliet, Ill.; and a brother, K.P. Palestine Herald Press Services for Fred Guy "Hawkshaw, Boo" McKenzie, 88, of Palestine, will be at 2 P.M. Friday at Tennessee Colony Church with the Rev. Lyle Huntress officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Palestine. Mr. McKenzie died Tuesday night at Greenbrier Nursing Home. He was born March 23, 1914, in Tennessee Colony, to Martin Eugene and Lydia Gore McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a packer and worked for Glass Containers. He was a member of Glass Bottle Blowers Union No. 86. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by sisters, Bernice Graham and Sybil Campodonico; and brothers, Harry McKenzie, Ralph McKenzie and Ray McKenzie. Pallbearers will be Jack Williams Jr., Jerry Cleveland, Jeff Cleveland, Rance Graham, Mike McKenzie and Don McKenzie. Honorary pallbearers will be John Tyer and Jimmy Frazier.

Tuesday at Tennessee Colony Cemetery with the Rev. Jason Bryant officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Watkins died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 15, 1904 in Tennessee Colony to W.L. Pugh and Margaret Link Pugh. Before retiring, Mrs. Watkins was employed as a bookkeeper at the Grand Leader. She was a member of North Jackson Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Therese Watkins Allen; and a sister, Jessie Grasty. Mrs. Watkins is survived by grandchildren, Michael Allen of Palestine; Suzanna Allen of Caldwell and Rebecca Chapman of Austin; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 P.M. today at the funeral home.)

Ken Dodson and Ron Britton officiating. Burial will follow in Tennessee Colony Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Woolverton died this morning at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 8, 1917 in Palestine to William Mase and Iva Scarbrough Hudson. Mrs. Woolverton was a homemaker. She was a member of the Tennessee Colony Christian Church, past matron of the Tennessee Colony Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Fort Houston Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and served as treasurer of the Tennessee Colony Cemetery Association for 30 years. Mrs. Woolverton was preceded in death by her husband, Claude P. Woolverton, in 1980; son, Dan Perry "Pip" Woolverton; brothers Fagan R. Hudson and George W. Hudson. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Woolverton of Tennessee Colony; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Cam Woolverton Jr., Ben Gary Woolverton, George Massey, James Milligan, Henry Paul Woolverton and Hubert Massey. Honorary pallbearer will be Mack Hudson. Condolence calls will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tennessee Colony Cemetery Association c/o Linda Henry, P.O.
